Retail readies for start-up investor forum

RETAIL 20:20 event will showcase the UKs dominant position in online retail innovation with the first investor forum
Retail innovation experts Eccomplished and technology investment firms Match Capital and Journey Ventures have joined forces to provide retail technologists with a dedicated platform for attracting investment.
RETAIL 20:20, the UK’s first investor forum for retail technology and innovation, will take place on the 25 September 2013 at the Soho Hotel in London at 3.30pm BST.
Rapid fire sales opportunity
The forum will put retail technology innovators on the spot – pitching their businesses to an audience of the UK’s leading technology investors with 20 slides and 20 seconds per slide.
Stephen Millard, Eccomplished managing director, commented: “Retail is undergoing rapid transformation. There are so many exciting and talented technology companies emerging to solve all manner of retail challenges – from meeting the demands of the multichannel shopper, to the reinvention of physical retail spaces and their transformation into engaging digital experiences.”
“This is a unique opportunity for innovative retail technology companies to pitch their businesses to a room full of people who can help them realise their ambition.” Millard added that the event is still open to applications and encouraged any interested technology vendors to apply.
Turbo-charged capital break
Peter Walsh, founder of Match Capital, added: “We have been working very closely this year with Stephen and his team, to showcase the very best of innovative British retail technologies to a diverse, but carefully 'matched' investor audience.
“We fully understand the challenges young companies face when raising capital, so this forum will allow us to turbo-charge the capital raising efforts of a very select group of retail technology innovators. Hopefully this will be the first of many such events."
The RETAIL 20:20 Investor Forum is open to applications from retail technology companies looking for early stage or growth funding. Selected participants will receive mentoring from the Eccomplished Investor Readiness Team. Technology companies wishing to pitch must apply here before the 31 August 2013.
