Manufacturer awards HCL five-year contract in Asia-Pacific region

HCL Technologies has been awarded a five-year IT infrastructure management services contract by Electrolux supporting its operations in Asia-Pacific (APAC), including Australia.

Services to be provided by HCL Technologies’ subsidiary, HCL ISD (also known as HCL Comnet in India) include support proactive monitoring and management of network, servers, IT security and end-user computing environment in 12 countries in the APAC region.

Regional development presence pays off

HCL will deliver these services through its global development centres in India and Malaysia, with onsite services delivered through a partner eco-system. Helpdesk services to Electrolux end-users across Asia Pacific will be provided in languages including English, Vietnamese, Thai and Bahasa (Malaysia & Indonesia).

The client Electrolux is looking to offer its employees in Asia Pacific a standardised service without increasing costs, according to Rachael Stormonth vice president at outsourcing analyst, NelsonHall.

“Electrolux also has a similar five-year contract with Fujitsu Services, awarded in 2008, covering around 10,000 workstations in its operations in Europe,” she added.
