ZBD electronic labelLeading Hungarian grocery retailer deploys ZBD’s electronic shelf labels within third store

ZBD, the epaper for retail specialist, has announced that CBA, one of Hungary’s largest retailers, has implemented ZBD’s electronic shelf labels within one of its Prima stores, located within the 1st district of Budapest, Hungary.

This is the third CBA store to have deployed ZBD’s electronic shelf labels and all projects have been implemented by ZBD’s VISION partner in Hungary, Laurel.

CBA is Hungary’s second largest retailer with an estate of 3,300 stores all operating under a co-operative-like business model with a proportion of stores centrally owned. The store, one of its Prima-branded premium supermarkets, has been equipped with a combination of ZBD’s epop 500, 300 and 50 displays. The displays have all been implemented within the fruit & vegetable department, where frequent price changes to help reduce product wastage are common.

Accurate pricing avoids fines

Peter Feniász, CBA’s managing director, said: “The reasons behind selecting ZBD’s solution was to ensure we display accurate pricing for customers at all times, and to eliminate the risk of fines imposed for price differences. With ZBD’s solution in place, our staff will be able to spend more time on serving customers and other tasks in store.”

Attila Bessenyei, sales manager for Laurel, worked with CBA on the third store and added: “ZBD’s epaper solution is proving to be highly effective for CBA. ZBD’s solution was recommended by other CBA stores, including CBA’s president, Mr Baldauf, having already implemented this technology successfully. We hope to be able to roll the solution out throughout the store in the near future.”

David Rogers, ZBD’s sales and marketing director, said: “We’re delighted to continue our relationship with CBA and we know that they see our epaper as a long-term solution. Our light-touch infrastructure, comprehensive product range and ease of use give us a winning combination over competing solutions.”
